Luke chapter 24 begins with the scene in which the women hear the news of Jesus’ resurrection at the empty tomb, and shows the process in which the two disciples of Emmaus and the apostles come to realize the meaning of the Cross and the resurrection through the Scriptures and receive the mission of preaching the gospel, up to the ascension of Jesus. We will examine each text in turn through the general interpretation of its context and the perspective of the gospel of the water and the Spirit.
